Visible dowels, thick square rails and open slats give this hand-built oak chair pair a direct, sturdy character that feels rich in detail from the moment you see it. The backs rise in short horizontal sections, while the seats repeat the same open construction below, giving the pair a lightness that keeps the heavy timber lively. Each joint becomes part of the design, with rounded pegs interrupting the straight lines and drawing attention to how the chairs were put together. Years of use have deepened the wood and brought out grain, color shifts and small irregularities that give the pair real warmth.
