Pair of Rare Wall Sconces Mod. 12898 by Elio Monesi for Arredoluce, 1961

A rare and sculptural pair of wall lights produced by Arredoluce in the early 1960s under the artistic direction of Elio Monesi. These fixtures embody the refined balance between architectural precision and material warmth that defines the most sophisticated Italian lighting of the period.

Each light is composed of an octagonal brass frame with gently faceted edges, enclosing a white duplex opaline glass diffuser. The geometric structure feels both rigorous and sculptural, while the opaline glass emits a warm, even glow that creates a soft halo effect against the wall.

The brass retains its original patina, beautifully aged with natural oxidation and tonal variation that enhance the depth and authenticity of the design. All screws, mounting components, and internal elements are original to the period.

When illuminated, the glass diffuses light atmospherically and evenly; when unlit, the fixtures maintain a strong architectural presence, functioning almost as wall-mounted sculptural objects.
