Upholstery
Low to the ground, this hand-carved sculptural storage stool gives a room a compact point of weight and texture, with an upholstered seat softening the substantial sapele base beneath it. Chisel marks follow the grain across the wood, catching light unevenly and giving the surface the varied character of something shaped slowly by hand. Beneath the seat, a concealed compartment keeps blankets, cables, and other everyday necessities close while helping the surrounding space stay orderly. Its small scale makes it easy to move beside a sofa, bed, or reading chair, where it can serve as an extra perch as naturally as it handles storage. The pleasure of the piece comes from how directly each part earns its place, working together in an object that feels substantial, useful, and tactile.
