One light can serve several purposes with this adjustable dark metal reading floor lamp, whose pivoting arm moves easily from a sofa-side task light to illumination for artwork or objects elsewhere in the room. Its tall, slender stance keeps the visual footprint restrained, while the dark finish gives the piece enough definition to hold its place beside substantial furniture. An uplight remains at the center of the design, giving the space a broader layer of illumination while the shorter arm can be aimed where more concentrated light is useful. That flexibility makes the lamp especially valuable in living rooms where reading, display and ambient lighting need to coexist with simplicity.
