Pair of Murano Crystal Sconces with Suspended Gold Leaf Particles by E. Barovier

A rare and refined pair of wall sconces designed by Archimede Seguso and produced by Seguso Vetri d'Arte in Murano during the 1940s.

Each fixture is composed of a hand-blown Murano glass shade of notable thickness, softly fluted with vertical ribbing that lends rhythm and depth to the surface. The glass carries a subtle green-yellow tonality, a natural characteristic of vintage Murano glass, which becomes especially luminous when illuminated.

The shades are supported by rectilinear brass arms with a warm, even patina developed over time. The contrast between the textured glass and aged brass defines the composition, balancing material richness with formal clarity.

An elegant example of Seguso's lighting production, where craftsmanship and restraint converge into quietly sculptural forms.
