Color
Named after Annika's younger sister and dearest lodestar, the Clara collection is glassware built around a person, her quiet strength, her love of lace and horseback riding, and the particular melancholy beauty of autumn that she holds above all other seasons. Each glass is made using filigrana, a Venetian technique dating back to the 16th century that involves layering, intertwining, and fusing long rods of glass before blowing and shaping entirely by hand, blending mezza filigrana, reticello, and zanfirico into a modern interpretation that is as technically extraordinary as it is visually arresting. This is the third fine table art series from Akua Objects, and it may be the most personal and fully realized work they have produced to date.

• The colors and tones bring a luminosity to the table that shifts and deepens with the light, making every glass a slightly different experience depending on where and how it is placed
• Each glass is made using filigrana, a 16th-century Venetian glassmaking technique of layered, intertwined, and fused glass rods, blown and shaped entirely by hand into something of genuine technical rarity
• The design draws on mid-century lacework, the filigrana canes capturing the delicate silhouettes and shifting patterns of woven lace with a precision that makes every glass a miniature work of art

Care Instructions

• The Clara collection is dishwasher safe.
• Given that each Akua piece is handcrafted, delicate handling is essential for their preservation. To ensure the longevity and pristine condition of your Akua glassware, please adhere to the following care instructions.
(1) Hand-wash each piece of glassware individually with warm water and a small amount of mild detergent. Use a soft sponge and gentle cleanser to avoid scratches. To avoid detergent residues, rinse the glasses thoroughly with clear water.
(2) Dry glassware promptly after washing to prevent calcium deposits. Gently use large microfiber cloths to dry the glass, avoiding excessive pressure to prevent breakage. Use the cloth to gently clean fingerprints from the outside of the glass.
(3) Use soft and dry microfiber cloths to polish the glass. Avoid applying excessive pressure or twisting parts si-multaneously, as this may cause the stem to break. Gently run the cloth along the outside to remove fingerprints.
