Form Vase #49 by Whitney Bender

Form Vase #49 is a large scale dual form sculpture, part of a series of sculptural vases inspired by the female form. It is made red terra cotta stoneware with added grog which gives it a natural textured surface. It is unglazed and has a matte, raw finish. The vase can be used as a functional floral arrangement or as sculptural decor. Each piece is one of a kind, hand built by rolling individual coils. The color palate for this series is neutral and minimal to emphasize the natural colors and textures of the clay.
