A quietly theatrical wall light attributed to Ignazio Gardella, likely produced by Azucena in the post-war period.
The composition is defined by a clear architectural structure: a rectangular wall plate in black lacquer supports a flat brass arm, from which a cylindrical stem descends with precision. The interplay of black lacquer and brass establishes a restrained, graphic presence.
At the top, a substantial glass shade with vertical cut facets diffuses the light, creating a soft, rhythmic pattern across the surrounding surface. The contrast between strict geometry and refracted light gives the piece both clarity and atmosphere.
The typology and construction are consistent with Gardella's lighting designs for Azucena, where rigorous metal frameworks are paired with refined glass elements.
A balanced and versatile piece, minimal in form yet expressive when illuminated.
