Jume Rug in Soga Texture

Soft, profound and robust, this rug is hand-woven in looms by master weavers. Ancient techniques find a fresh new approach within these serene rural landscapes and combined, grant this textile a vibrant aura that projects beyond its materiality. It's a unique piece handmade using pure hand-spun and hand-dyed sheep wool of the Criolla type. A beautiful natural hand-dyed color graces its texture. It's color is obtained with the leaves of the Jume plant that typically grows in the area. Woven with our Criolla Wool, it captivates with its rich undertones and nuanced shades which portray the natural aleatory of sheep wool Our Soga texture is our chunkiest weave, with a thickness of 0.4". Both sides of the rug are equal and could be placed facing up.

Wool Properties:

• Our criolla sheep wool is a virgin yarn carefully sourced from small producers in areas close to where the rugs are woven.
• The shearing, washing and spinning is done in a fully handmade way, without any type of machine. Thanks to this, its most distinctive visual feature is the depth of tones and shades that are achieved. Rugs with this wool have rich undertones which portray the natural aleatory of sheep wool.
• Additionally, sheep wool has many natural properties such as:
• Stain resistant: wool is naturally water repellent, which means that it also repels stains and liquids, facilitating its cleaning and maintenance.
• Eco friendly
• Natural insulator and temperature regulator.
• Flame proof: wool does not set on fire, it will eventually burn down if in a large fire but it won't generate flames.

Care & Maintenance:

• Vacuuming our rugs regularly, softly, and without the use of a brush is the best way to keep them looking fresh.
• Wool is naturally water repellent, which means that it also repels stains and liquids, facilitating its cleaning and maintenance.
