LES ARBRES ROUX by Maxime Testu

A procession of rounded trees defines this russet-toned contemporary landscape painting, where deep red-brown crowns rise above a dark horizon under a muted green-gray sky. The repeated trunks establish a steady cadence across the surface, giving the scene a sense of distance that feels more remembered than observed. The earthy palette brings depth without overwhelming the surrounding space. Softly blurred edges keep the trees from becoming overly literal, allowing color and spacing to do much of the expressive work. Its lasting appeal comes from the way a simple row of trees can feel expansive yet inward all at once.
