Stretching across the room as one uninterrupted dark plane, this low-slung dark wood daybed gives a bedroom, guest room or open living area the relaxed presence of a built-in retreat. The dark surface makes cushions and bedding feel more distinct, so even a simple arrangement gains definition against the broad base beneath it. Because the piece behaves as both furniture and a strong horizontal element in the room, it can organize an open area around rest, reading or afternoon lounging with remarkably little visual noise.
A Design by North Vernon.
