Structural clarity and visual lightness meet in this exceptionally rare pair of armchairs, designed by Franco Albini and produced by Poggi in the early 1960s. Slender tapered legs and sculptural armrests reveal Albini's gift for resolving form and function into a single elegant line. A later dark lacquer was carefully removed by hand during conservative restoration, allowing the wood's natural grain to resurface beneath a traditional shellac finish. What sets this pair apart, however, is their original mustard velvet upholstery, still rich in color and softness after more than sixty years, its decorative nails intact and its patina entirely its own.
