Pair of Rationalist Club Armchairs by Giuseppe Pagano, Reimagined by FORME, 1930s

A rare pair of Italian Rationalist club armchairs, designed by Giuseppe Pagano in the 1930s and carefully restored and reimagined by FORME. Broad walnut side panels shape each chair as an architectural volume, their continuous wooden sides flowing into the front apron and grounded by black lacquered plinth feet. Generous proportions and enveloping arms bring genuine comfort to a design faithful to Rationalism's restrained language, while the walnut frames retain minor traces of age that speak to their conservative, hand-finished restoration in traditional shellac. For this reinterpretation, FORME selected Dedar's Jamu Jungle jacquard velvet, its textured, tonal richness offering a contemporary counterpoint to the chairs' disciplined architecture. A museum-quality pair where structure, material, and history resolve into a singular composition.
