Among the most sculptural lighting designs of their era, these Medusa sconces by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso were hand-blown in opalescent Murano glass around 1940, each fold and droplet formed freehand while the glass was still molten. The pale anise tone shifts under changing light into hints of lavender, pale blue, and warm ivory, an organic quality that inspired the design's name. Restrained brass supports offer quiet architectural contrast, their aged patina never competing with the fluid glass above. A rare survival from one of Barovier's most experimental periods, fit for serious design collections and refined interiors alike.
