Silent Peaks by Aimée Adriaansen

Soft gray mountain ranges recede beneath a pale sky in this misty neutral landscape artwork, bringing a cool sense of distance to rooms where subtle color and natural subjects are most at home. The ridgelines sink gradually into one another, becoming lighter and less distinct as they move back, which gives the modest scene an unexpectedly expansive depth. Gray-green tones keep the image restrained while allowing the darker foreground slopes to carry enough weight to anchor the view. In a bedroom, study, or living area, the painting can introduce the feeling of open land without taking over the room with strong color or dramatic contrast. Its most compelling quality is the sense of remoteness it creates, with the mountains fading into haze until the farthest ridge seems to dissolve into the sky.
